Some People I'd Like To Thank

Roscoe (d) and Alta (d)

My parents. They encouraged my musical leanings and let me aspire to something more.

Udean

My sister. We fought like cats and dogs when we were children, but became good friends once we were grown. She started me on the path to becoming the “Organ Nut” that I am. Her first set of in-laws, the Smiths, helped out quite a bit, too. They built an “Organ House” for the old M. P. Möller tracker organ she bought at auction for $235 in 1966. We rebuilt the organ, and we played it!

Ruth B. Miller (d)

My piano teacher. I wasn't a willing student, and I apologize (too late) for not practicing.

Virgil Fox (d)

From his recordings, I learned the thrill of organ music.

E. Power Biggs (d)

From his recordings, I learned the intimate feelings the organ could relate. This was the dénouement–when the great Johann Sebastian Bach became the center of my musical world.

J. S. Bach (d)

What can I say? For me, the organ is almost synonymous with Bach.

Dr. Frederick Jackisch

My organ teacher. It only took a few lessons to get his ideas across. I still remember those lessons.

The Rev. Dr. Frederick Otto (d)

A friend who told me I had good [musical] taste.

Martin Dyde

The inventor of Hauptwerk®. I cannot praise this man enough. He must truly be a genius.

James Pressler

A true Hauptwerk® artist who showed me how to create virtual performances.

Jim (d)

A true and good friend. He stood by and just shook his head. He knew the depth of my “nutitude”. He brought me back when my mind wandered too far and found all those things I thought I might have lost.

David

A fellow “organ nut”. I met him through the Hauptwerk Forum on line. He had a problem, and I helped him solve it. He lives in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, and I visit him as often as I can. He, too, has an organ project based on Hauptwerk®.

Allan

Another on-line friend. He lives in Shropshire, England. I met him through David. Allan is a “tech wiz”. He has helped both David and myself with many technical questions. He gives advice and comfort to novice computer users through his abundant generosity.

Dr. Bob, PhD

I've known Bob since we began junior high school (grade 7). He provides much humorous relief when it is needed. I can only hope I do the same for him.
